England expected… and England delivered with a one nil victory over the Paraguayans but it was far from convincing.  In the hot cauldron of Frankfurt Sven’s Men pitted themselves against the plucky South Americans but after a positive start they faded.  By the end the England fans were relieved to take the 3 points and look forward to the West Indian side Trinidad & Tobago.

For me and my mates John, Andy, Dave, Paul & Oli, it was great to be there in Frankfurt to lap up the atmosphere.  The Germans made very good hosts and there was a carnival atmosphere throughout the city.  They said that they wanted to make this the best World Cup ever and certainly if they carry on like this the Germans may well achieve that.
