After the terrible fire in Camden Market last weekend, many visitors to London are asking “will the Market be open next Sunday?” Camden Market is very popular for students on English Courses in London.

First some good news: the fire only damaged a small part of the market, so there is every reason for business to continue in the parts that were not affected. Naturally, we wish those who have suffered to be able to open again soon.

Second, it is a part of British culture to fight back against things that go wrong, whether it is something like a fire or problems on the sports field. We just carry on working!

The traders in Camden need our support at this time, but for those of you who might wish to try some of the other London markets, here are some ideas: Petticoat Lane (clothes), Brick Lane (leather, jewellery), Spitalfields (crafts, antiques).

Everybody knows that February is a special month not only for people who are in a couple but also for singletons. Answer English has planned for February some fun-packed events; taking part is a great opportunity first to share a great moment with our team, then to practice your English and above all to meet new people in London.

Throughout February we’ll offer to you the chance every Monday to practise your English with an English native speaker during our Free English Practice. You’ll discuss different topics that you would like to talk about and you’ll be able to share and compare your point of view with our other students.

Every Tuesday you can join James to play in his formidable 5-a-side football team at Wandsworth. That could be fun to play for Answer English who just won promotion to the Premiership. On Thursday 7 Feb and 28 Feb enjoy drinking a couple of glass in two different atmospheres: the first Thursday at the Duke of Wellington where you will be in a friendly and cosy English pub, and the second Thursday at Bar Andalucía where there is a real warm Spanish ambiance.
