Rosie, for how long have you been a teacher and principal at London - Camden?

I started 5 years ago as the Director of Studies at London - Camden.  I was promoted to Principal of the school a year ago.  Since I’ve been at the school, I’ve also taught our Conversation, Pronunciation and English for Work courses for 6 months.  Before my time at London - Camden I worked for 15 years as a teacher.

How does your background as a teacher help you to be a principal?

It helps me on the academic side.  That`s why I understand the pressure the students have by studying abroad.  I think I`m much more sensitive and the students are not only a number for me.  Most of all I enjoy the energy of the people and to learn more about other cultures.  I`ve got a wider idea of the world through my work.

That sounds great.  That gives me nearly the answer to my next question.  Do you enjoy working with students from all over the world?

Yes, I love it.  As I mentioned before I love the energy of the students and I give my best to make them feel comfortable at our school.

What do you think are the differences between Tti and other language schools?

Well, I know many schools say it, but we are really like a family and I know the name of every student in the school.  I have a personal interest in my students so I see them all as individuals.  Furthermore we try to build a caring and bright atmosphere.

Rosie, what do you do when you are not working?

I love cooking, gardening and going to the cinema and the theatre.  On the weekends I play Mum for my nieces. They are 4 and 8.

Do you speak any other languages?

No, to my shame.

What advice would you give to the students who would like to take the Cambridge exam?

You have to be prepared to work hard to achieve your goals.  By achieving your goal you can be very proud because you will have a real edge over other non-native English speakers.  As a tip I can give you on the way try to read English every day, listen to English every day for example with pod-cast and try to live it.  When you follow this advice I`m sure you will have the best chance to pass the exam.
