London Marathon 2009
The London Marathon is an institution. Over 30,000 people compete, some taking the event more seriously than others. One of the things that separates London from many of the marathon’s worldwide is the amount of people that run for Charities and good causes. Millions of pounds are raised every year for the needy.
I urge you to get yourself down to witness the spectacle on 26 April. It is the biggest street party. You will see people dressed in Gorilla suits, as Chickens or as Borat! Last year when I ran one of my proudest moments was finishing ahead of a Cornish pastie! As you can see, I looked silly enough as it was: James in Action. To enjoy the marathon more, I recommend you to sponsor someone. This increases your involvement as you cheer them on.
Don’t have anyone to sponsor?
Here a few friends that I know are running who would love your support:
Navene Alim is running for the The Neurofibromatosis Association (NfA): www.justgiving.com/navenerunsthemarathon
Louise Gray is running for Leonard Cheshire Disability: www.justgiving.com/loubgray
Sam Cates is running for the Prostate Cancer Charity: www.justgiving.com/samcates
I’m sure they will appreciate your support. Enjoy the day and remember to cheer everyone on!
