We are pleased to announce to all our customer from outside EU that on 9th July 2010 English UK has won its case in the High Court against the last Home Secretary’s decision to raise the level of English which students must have before they can get a UK visa to learn the language here.

All students applying for a General Student Visa should be at CEFR Level A1 (elementary) or higher, and capable of following a programme of study at CEFR Level A2 or higher.

This is a considerable success on behalf on English UK and their members, and a decision that places the UK back in a market-leading position to welcome long-term applications from all over the world.

It’s summer time and London has many places to offer for a refreshing outdoor swimming.

The number 1 destination is Hampstead Heath, or the Heath, as it is commonly called. With its 320 hectares land less than 4 miles from Trafalgar Square, it represents the countryside in the City.

The Heath has 3 unique and internationally famous bathing ponds idyllically situated in the hearth of this beautiful green area: the Ladies’s, Men’s and Mixed Ponds. Open 365 days a year (admission is just £2).

You can go to take spectaculr views from Parliament Hill, also called Kites Hill, admire the floral display at Golders Hill Park, visit Kenwood House or simply walk and enjoy the range of landscapes and habitats on offer. Prliament Hill also offers a spacious Lido, which provides an alternative to the three bathing ponds on Hampsead Heath.

You can find other Lidos across London: in Central London Serpentine Lido is a classic favorite; for the South, Brockwell Lido, also known as Brixton Beach, is a popular destination, as well as London Fields Lido for East Londoners. Just outside London, Hampton Pool in the great surroundings of Bushy Park is another ideal destination for sport lovers (there’s a gym on-site). It could sound surprising but also Covent Garden has got its out-door oasi: it’s called Oasis Sports Centre.

For the Bastille Day London is going to celebrate in Battersea Park Sunday 11th with a French market replete with raclette and wine area and guest chef Raymond Blanc, plus a picnic area, giant pétanque tournament, dance floor, music, French films, kids’ corner with cooking demonstration and an evening after-party.

For tennis lovers or who simply wants to see this very traditional British Sport Event, this week-end is the last chance this year to get into the Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
