Free Art Exhibitions in London

April 26, 2010 at 5:15 pm · Filed under Answer English Blog, Courses in London, English School London, Learning English, London Life · Posted by Annalisa

street-art-londonIf you love Art, especially Modern Art, and you are looking for something different from the huge traditional Museums, London is plenty of really good Galleries and many of them offers free temporary exhibitions!

If you are studying in a Language school in West London, for a break check out the program of the Saatchi, which is now hosting again a successful hexibition about contemporary Indian Art.

If your English Course is in East London, a good choice would be to visit Whitechapel Gallery after your lessons.

If you are studying English in Central London, well… you will have many choices… from The Serpentine, in its wonderful location in the middle of Hyde Park, or Somerset House, on the Strand, with its great terrace view on the River Thams, now hosting an impressive sound installation by Bill Fontana that creates an acoustic journey through the little known subterranean spaces of the House. If your passion is Photography, the Photographer’s Gallery is worth a visit.

brighton-pier041

Why not thinking about a trip to Brighton, even if just for one day? The city is just 1hour and 15mins from London, and you can get the train from Victoria Station.

Brighton is on the seaside.. bring towel and sunglasses with you and you will enjoy the time with your friends! If it is too hot, have a change for a drink in Brighton Pier !

If you like the city and you are thinking to take an English Course to improve your english, Brighton could be the perfect place for you this summer.

Volcanic ash spreading across the UK from Iceland has caused restrictions to be placed on the use of UK airspace by the air traffic control service (NATS). Here you can check the last update of flight cancellation at BAA Airports. http://www.baa.com/

We hope the situation is getting to normality asap and to welcome all our students in the UK schools.
