We are pleased to announce to all our customer from outside EU that on 9th July 2010 English UK has won its case in the High Court against the last Home Secretary’s decision to raise the level of English which students must have before they can get a UK visa to learn the language here.
All students applying for a General Student Visa should be at CEFR Level A1 (elementary) or higher, and capable of following a programme of study at CEFR Level A2 or higher.
This is a considerable success on behalf on English UK and their members, and a decision that places the UK back in a market-leading position to welcome long-term applications from all over the world.

Discounts on Theatre tickets – go to the south side of Leicester Square
and you will find a booth selling cut-price theatre tickets for that day.
There is normally more choice for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Go boating in Hyde Park and Regent’s Park – want something to do
on Sunday afternoon (the busiest but best day, as there are many other
rowers to laugh at). Head for the parks and impress your friends with your
rowing skills. You my not be able to row – but neither can the others!
Great fun!

Ask your hosts to help you – most homestay hosts have guests
because they enjoy the company of students. Show them your course. Ask
them to test you, or help you with words that you do not understand.
Start a conversation to find their interests.

Read a free newspaper every day – there are several daily newspapers
published in London that are free. Look close to travel points (eg tube &
bus stations) and other places of interest (eg museums, art galleries).
There is Metro (morning); Evening Standard (afternoon).

If you love Art, especially Modern Art, and you are looking for something different from the huge traditional Museums, London is plenty of really good Galleries and many of them offers free temporary exhibitions!
If you are studying in a Language school in West London, for a break check out the program of the Saatchi, which is now hosting again a successful hexibition about contemporary Indian Art.
If your English Course is in East London, a good choice would be to visit Whitechapel Gallery after your lessons.
If you are studying English in Central London, well… you will have many choices… from The Serpentine, in its wonderful location in the middle of Hyde Park, or Somerset House, on the Strand, with its great terrace view on the River Thams, now hosting an impressive sound installation by Bill Fontana that creates an acoustic journey through the little known subterranean spaces of the House. If your passion is Photography, the Photographer’s Gallery is worth a visit.
