London - British Museum´s General English course will help you develop your 4 language skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. You will also study and practise Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation. This General English course consists of 3 classes every day, Monday to Friday, 15 classes per week.
Aimed at: This course is aimed at students who are looking to improve and practise their English. This course is available to students of Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, Advanced levels. This course is not appropriate for Total Beginners.
Benefits of doing this course: There are only four things you can do with a language - speak, listen, read, write. On this course you will improve in all these areas and so will gain confidence to use English in different situations. If you want "to be better at English" then this is the course for you.
Methodology: London - British Museum favours using text books, newspapers, audio recordings, video / DVD, the Internet and e-learning.
Summer Timetable: During the summer London - British Museum operates a split-timetable. Students are tested first thing on Monday morning. They are then placed in their respective classes with students of similar abilities. Students will then take classes alternating between the mornings and the afternoons. This was trialed last year and was very popular with the students as they could enjoy a lie-in some days (when perhaps they'd been out late the night before) or go to see a museum in the afternoon (when they had classes in the morning). Classes could be Mon, Wed and Fri in the Morning and Tues and Thurs in the afternoon or vice versa.
