Did you know?
The school is located in the area of Bloomsbury known for its cultural heritage. This site was originally an ancient village called Lomesbury and up until the 17th Century was mostly fields. Universities and hospitals came to be constructed here during the 18th and 19th centuries helping Bloomsbury develop its cultural reputation. The area attracted artists and writers such as Virginia Woolfe and E. M. Forster who came to be known as the Bloomsbury set for their liberal and bohemian attitude.
Also of interest: While living in exile in London Karl Marx spent long hours in the British Musuem reading room researching Das Kapital. As Mikhail Gorbachev remarked ‘if people don’t like Marxism, they should blame the British Musuem.’
Lunch Time: There is no cafeteria in the school. Students tend to pick up a sandwich or salad at one of the many cafes locally and go to either Bloomsbury Square or the British Museum to have their lunch.
