Young Lawyers
If you are a newly qualified lawyers or a current law student then this London - Holland Park course for Young Lawyers is for you. This aims to give you the specialised language that you will need for your careers. English for Young Lawyers is for 20 – 30 year olds and will ensure that you can communicate more confidently in legal situations and use specialised legal vocabulary more effectively.
Aimed at: This three-week course is for newly qualified lawyers and law students to give them the specialised language they will need for their careers. This course is available to students of Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, Advanced levels. This course is not appropriate for Total Beginners or Elementary Levels.
Benefits of doing this Course: This course will enable you to communicate more confidently in legal situations and use specialised legal vocabulary more effectively. In addition you can expect to expand your active business vocabulary and use English in your work with greater confidence. You will be able to communicate more confidently, speak more accurately and fluently and participate more successfully in meetings. Your written English, including emails, will improve, your understanding of grammar will be deeper and you will be able to socialise & network with greater confidence.
Methodology: The course includes legal case studies, communication strategies, meetings skills and negotiations. We also cover the general language skills that will help you to communicate effectively in a wide range of formal and informal situations. The vocabulary covers civil law (including contract law), EC law and Criminal Law. The trainers are specialists with expertise in this field and there is important input from the real legal world including sessions led by practising lawyers and visits to ‘legal London’.

- Course Start Dates: 05/01, 16/02, 27/04, 06/07, 03/08, 28/09, 09/11.
- Bank Holidays: 01/01, 10/04, 13/04, 04/05, 25/05, 31/08, 25/12 and 28/12. The school is open on the 04/05, 25/05, 31/08. All the other Bank Holidays the school is closed and you lose the day off the course.The school will be closed between the 21/12/09 and the 03/01/10.
- Minimum Course Length: 3 weeks
- Included in the course fees: course materials, lectures from visiting speakers and visits to appropriate organisations (depending on the course chosen), free access to internet, interactive exercises in our computer centres, laptop access, wifi, regular social events.
- Total weekly course time: 24 hours 00 minutes. This course meets the minimum 15 hour requirement for Visa Students.
