Did you know?
In Wimbledon Common artefacts like ancient arrowheads and tools have been found that are said to date back to 100,000 BC. Remains were found to suggest there was once a fort on top of the hill. Until the mid-18th Century Wimbledon remained largely a tranquil area and Royalty even occupied a manor house on the Common. However with the arrival of the railways, more people came to live here and it is now very much part of London where many commute to.
Lunch Time: There is a small café at the London – Wimbledon school where most students get a snack. Alternatively there is a supermarket within 5 minutes walk.
