Exam Preparation for Cambridge

Benefits of doing this course: The primary focus of the course is to ensure that you attain or surpass the level of English skills you require to sit your chosen exam.
Methodology:
Regular assessment, feedback and monitoring: You will be monitored by your teachers, given encouragement and feedback while also being assessed on your performance through compulsory assignments. A personalized reading plan, tutorials and a study plan will allow you to be in control of your learning.
Exam Technique: You will be taught the exam skills needed to ensure you meet or surpass your expected result. You will learn how to effectively answer questions, using sample exams and authentic materials. You will become familiar with the exam you are taking.
Improve your level: Being immersed in an English speaking environment for 10 – 13 weeks will considerably improve our overall level. Your lessons will be focused on preparing you for your exam; however, through this process you will improve your English fluency considerably.
Specific skills covered include:
Writing: You will be taught methods and strategies for successfully completing integrated and independent writing skills.
Speaking: You will learn the speaking skills needed to confidently talk in depth on a number of topics in order to take a one-to-one interview.
Listening: You will be taught listening strategies, such as listening for gist and listening for detail. You will be exposed to various natural English accents.
Reading: You will practice reading a number of authentic academic writings. You will be taught to scan read for general meaning and details, plus, you will learn how to restate and make inferences, amongst other reading skills.

- Number of Classes per week: 20 Classes (15 hours)
- Length of 1 Class: 45 Minutes
- Course Start Dates: 04/02, 22/03, 13/09
- Bank Holidays: 10/02, 19/03, 31/03, 02/04, 07/06, 29/06, 08/09, 21/09, 08/12 and 13/12/2010. will make up for lessons missed with the exceptions of 02 April, 29 June, 8 September and 21 September when lessons will not be made up.
- Minimum course Length: 8 weeks
- Included in the course fees: course book, additional English activities and workshops, welcome dinner, internet access.
- Notes: 4 weeks intensive program, Structured level and skill syllabus, level tests, personal reading program, personal tutorials every 3 weeks and personalised study plan.
- Total weekly course time: 15 Hours. This course meets the minimum 15 hour requirement for Visa Students.
